ESCANABA - Patricia M. Hamilton, 65, of 223 N. 13th St., Escanaba, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, after a 13-month battle with cancer at her home in Escanaba.
She was born March 8, 1943 in Monroe, Mich., and was the daughter of Lawrence and Frances (Gay) Weiss. The former Patricia Weiss married Wayne Hamilton on Sept. 9, 1960, in Monroe, and together they moved to Escanaba in 1971.
Patricia was employed with Community Action Agency and was the coordinator for the Gladstone Senior Center until her retirement on March 8, 2008. She also was a coordinator for Gold Star Tour Company.
She served on the DATA Board, was a member of the American Legion Axillary and she enjoyed going to the casino.
Patricia M. Hamilton is survived by husband, Wayne; sons, Randy (Debbie) Hamilton of Gladstone, Rick Hamilton of Mountpelier, Ohio, Ed Hamilton of Ford River and Tom (Lisa) Hamilton of Gladstone; daughter, Julie Hamilton of Escanaba; 16 grandchildren; sisters, Genvieve (Paul) Castillo of Monroe, Barbara Antone of Powers; brother, Robert (Kim) Weiss of Springfield, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Timothy Hamilton in 1977.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday July 23, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Patricia M. Hamilton will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Harmon officiating. A motorcycle procession will take place from the Anderson Funeral Home to the Gladstone Senior Center following the funeral services.
A luncheon will be served at that time at the Gladstone Senior Center in Gladstone. Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery.
